Individual Counseling

Individual Counseling

GroupWorks provides a safe, non-judgmental space for you and your family
to discuss and learn more about yourself and loved ones.

What is Individual Therapy?

Individual therapy—also known as psychotherapy, talk therapy, or counseling—is a collaborative process between therapist and client that aims to facilitate change and improve quality of life.

The therapeutic goal of individual therapy is to teach coping skills and improve everyday functioning. In some cases, an adult participates in the counseling process for a child/teen to clarify the presenting problem and goals for therapy.

What can I expect?

Every client at GroupWorks Wellness & Recovery works with a therapist who first evaluates the current situation, symptoms, behavior, and skills. Clients participate in developing a comprehensive treatment plan. The personalized treatment plan will outline appropriate services, developed with the overall goal of mental health recovery and personal growth.

What are common reason people seeking treatment?

Individual counseling can assist in overcoming any of the following: a trauma experience, adjustments to changing environments, repercussions of decisions, concerns with relationships, work problems, household changes, general life stress. Therapy can facilitate expression of feelings and objective guidance.

Our qualified therapists will help you build a trusting relationship
based on honesty, encouragement, and compassion. Therapists assist you
in discussing challenging emotions, concerns, and behaviors.
